On the tour of the Alcázar of the Christian Monarchs and the Jewish Quarter, you will have the
chance to learn in detail about the era of coexistence of the three cultures in the city. On this
route you will get to know the imposing fortress that is the Alcázar of Córdoba, and we will also
take you to discover all the hidden secrets of the Jewish Quarter of Córdoba. We will share what
those Sephardic Jews who inhabited the present-day Jewish Quarter were like — their customs,
their way of life, their philosophy and their principles. We will also stroll to the Plaza de Tiberíades,
home to the famous statue of the philosopher Maimonides, probably the most famous physician
of the medieval period in Spain.

Discover the Alcázar and the Jewish Quarter on our guided tour

We will be delighted to show you places such as the mosaic hall inside the Alcázar, to explain the
importance of preserving them, as they date back to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd centuries AD. We will
continue our tour towards the Synagogue of Córdoba, which dates from 1315 and is one of only
three preserved from this period in Spain today. We will visit the heart of the Jewish Quarter until
we reach the well-known Plaza del Cardenal Salazar to talk about the old hospital, the same
building that today houses the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters. We will then continue to enjoy
the charm of the monumental courtyard of the municipal Craftsmen’s Souk of Córdoba, so you
understand how important popular culture is in the city. On this tour we like to show the less
touristy but historically important aspects of Córdoba.
