The Jewish Quarter of Córdoba lies within the historic centre of the city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994. On this tour you will discover the city’s most important monument, the Mosque of Córdoba, and in addition we will show you the hidden secrets of the Jewish Quarter of Córdoba.

Guided tour of the Mosque and the Cordoban Jewish Quarter

On the guided tour of the Mosque and the Jewish Quarter, you will enjoy the history of the Sephardic Jews in Córdoba, the coexistence of the three cultures (Jewish, Christian and Muslim), as well as the various assaults the city endured. The Synagogue of Córdoba is one of only three preserved from the medieval period in Spain. Furthermore, the visit to the Jewish Quarter is the perfect complement to the Mosque monument; on our guided tour we will also visit the municipal souk, as well as emblematic alleys such as Calleja de las Flores or Calleja del Pañuelo.

The best route to discover the Mosque and Jewish Quarter of Córdoba

We could say this visit is almost a must, since you enjoy the monument par excellence as well as something as characteristic as the many alleys held within the Cordoban Jewish Quarter. If you decide to travel as a family, fun is guaranteed on this route: the little ones have great fun searching for the Network of Jewish Quarters trail markers hidden in every corner of the maze of the Jewish Quarter of Córdoba.

In addition, you will be able to appreciate the differences, as well as the similar and contrasting features the three cultures had in the city. We will begin with the visit to the Mosque-Cathedral to soak up the history of the Muslim period and the later reconquest of the city by the Christians, combining both with the features of Sephardic Jewish culture.
